Colorado Springs man arrested on sex crime charge

A Colorado Springs man, 29, has been arrested on suspicions that he has repeatedly exposed himself to area women.

Police say they believe he has exposed himself on seven or more occasions. He’s been charged with indecent exposure.

The suspect was in his car and pulled over for speeding this past Monday, police said. The officer apparently noticed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and called for back-up officers. After they arrived, they noticed that the suspect resembled a description of a man sought by police in seven indecent exposure cases.

The incidents were reportedly in area stores, parking lots and parks, police said.

In an unrelated matter, a Colorado Spring photographer accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl has reportedly accepted a plea bargain negotiated with prosecutors.

In exchange for pleading guilty to sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and sexual exploitation of a child, the man faces from four to 12 years in state prison.

He will be sentenced on November 28.

After his release from prison, he will be on intensive supervised probation for a minimum of 10 years.

Prosecutors agreed to drop 38 charges against the defendant as part of the plea agreement.

The man was accused of illegal sexual contact with the girl, as well as downloading hundreds of sexual photos that prosecutors believe depicted underage children.
